I watched this film for the umpteenth time on New Years Eve -- it's a guilty pleasure of mine. This 2006 film was written and directed by Nancy Meyers and stars Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Jack Black. Iris Simpkins (Winslet) is a newspaper columnist in London who is in love with her engaged co-worker. Amanda Woods cuts film trailers in Los Angeles and just broke up with her cheating boyfriend. Wishing to escape from their relationship troubles, they swap homes with each other for the holidays -- and get more than they bargained for. I admit that the film has some flaws and plot holes, but it's the feel-good film that I really don't tire of. A highlight Eli Wallach in a supporting role. It is a great, lighthearted "date movie," and harmless entertainment.
