Let the Hunger Games Begin!

The first trailer for the much anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins' epic novel has been out for some time already, but I wanted to share my thoughts on it, and the hype that has been building around the film.

First, I would like to say that the first trailer for this film is one of the best I have ever seen. It was so good that it made me buy the book the next day. And once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. I finished the three books in five days; I completely devoured them, was completely immersed in the story. I have now seen the trailer countless times, and each and every time I get more and more excited.

Second, I must admit that I think that the casting for this film was PERFECT. I know many people will disagree with me here, but as I read the book, with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and the rest of the cast in mind, I could not agree more with the choices. Although Lawrence, at first, would seem like an awkward choice to play Katniss Everdeen (because of the obvious physical difference between her and the character), the transformation she went through to play the part, as observed in the trailer, should thoroughly convince a skeptic that she is completely right for the role. Hutcherson and Hemsworth, completing the love triangle, are great choices, especially Hutcherson. I'm a bit biased here, for I've enjoyed his films for many years, but I think that he will give the role the dynamics it requires.

This is my Twilight, so, naturally, I'm unbelievably excited for this film. Look for more Hunger Games commentary in the future!
