Film Review -- Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

This sequel to the 2009 film was directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law. The supporting cast also features Noomi Rapace, Rachel McAdams, Stephen Fry, Kelly Reilly, and Geraldine James. Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. John Watson, join forces again to stop their toughest adversary yet, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) from starting a World War. The chemistry between Downey, Jr.'s Holmes and Law's Watson is as fantastic as ever. The humor is sharp throughout the film, and the plot is intriguing enough to keep you entertained through its entirety. I preferred this film's story to its predecessor's -- it was funnier and more interesting overall. Ritchie pushed the boundaries of craziness even more for this film, but didn't go so overboard that it was ridiculous, which is very important. A Game of Shadows was definitely one of my favorite, more intelligent "popcorn flicks" of the season.
